What do you mean, updated options? Are you trying to update your program and it is not letting you? I'm not sure what you want to do.
Version: unspecified → 3.0 Branch
i cannot update Firefox for news versions. the menus and buttons to do that are grey.
So when you go to Help, Check for Updates, it is grayed out? Try starting in safe mode, http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode.
i' am in safe mode. what to do in the panel ?
What panel, check for updates? Just start up in safe mode (you can leave your default settings, which come up you start, alone for now), then check for updates.
i done that. i am in safe mode but the menu ?/"check for update" is always grey.
Can you give a screenshot? It may need a new profile, http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles
Ok i'm not sure how to give you that. perhaps the registry of Vista is altered. I go sleep. (its midnight in France) thank you. an other time maybe.
http://www.ehow.com/how_4580820_screenshot-windows-vista.html?ref=fuel&utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=ssp&utm_campaign=yssp_art tells you how to take a screenshot. There is no hurry in getting it up right now, just solong as we get it.
does this happen with newer 3.6 started in safe mode - http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode ?

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.x or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
