The requirement is to be able to specify additional components for a bug next to the (only one) main component and to be able to search for bugs that call out a specified component as either the main component or as additional component.

Background are products with very many components where fixing one bug affects more than one component and it is impractical to create "sub-bugs" for each affected additional component. It must be possible to query for all bugs that affect a specified component, independent on whether these bug call out the component as the main (only) one or as additional components.

Some working groups of ISO TC184/SC4 are using Bugzilla intensively to manage problems and enhancements of ISO 10303. Parts of ISO 10303 become bugzilla components and there are several hundreds meanwhile. We look for an efficient mechanism to track side effects of changes on one component to other components. 

The same problematic is with software development that is split into many components and where one change of a component affects several other components.
