User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3) Gecko/20090305 Firefox/3.1b3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: 0.0.33 "tab clicking options" add-on allows the functionality to open a new tab by double clicking on empty tab bar (as usually in firefox). however the opened tab is empty and it does not enable about:newtab Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. double click on tab bar 2. 3. Actual Results: an empty tab opens Expected Results: open an about:newtab
Do you have the New Tab add-on installed? https://people.mozilla.com/~dmills/abouttab/abouttab-latest.xpi If you do and it still doesn't open the page when opening a new tab, perhaps you have another add-on that changes how tabs are opened like Tab Mix Plus. Configure the new tab page to be: chrome://abouttab/content/text.html
of course i have the new tab add-on installed i do not have tab mix plus the problem is due to the "tab clicking options" add-on and due to it alone
Oh, I didn't realize what you were referring to when you said "tab clicking options". But the same solution should work. Set the "new tab" option to open: chrome://abouttab/content/text.html
there is no such option
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
This is an issue with "tab clicking options" not "new tab". Tab clicking options changes how new tabs are opened when using the tab clicking shortcut. This bug should be marked INVALID.
