Build Identifier: Thunderbird 2.0.0.21 with lightning 0.9 (build 2008091718) on ubuntu 8.10

To create my Google calendar in lightning i have followed the tutorial from http://bfish.xaedalus.net/?p=239 but after checking Google Calendar and inputing the xml private address of the calendar, when i press the next button i don't go to the next panel.
In the error console i get the following:
Error: [Exception... "Invalid ClassID or ContractID" nsresult: "0x80570017 (NS_ERROR_XPC_BAD_CID)" location: "JS frame :: file:///home/marcela/.mozilla-thunderbird/y14qv3a0.default/extensions/%7Be2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103%7D/components/calItemModule.js :: initBaseComponent :: line 67" data: no]

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.create a new calendar
2.on the network
3.Google Calendar
4.Input calendar private xml address
5.Next

Actual Results:
No next panel

Expected Results:
Next panel
Product: Thunderbird → Calendar

You need to install the libstdc++5 package first that is not installed by default in recent Ubuntu systems. Install Lightning afterwards again
