The following revision http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/l10n-mozilla-1.9.1/te/diff/8cd9bb59e628/browser/chrome/browser-region/region.properties changed the names of all web services listed in region.properties. I don't think this is necessary or even desired. For example, Google still uses "Google" on their Telugu pages: http://www.google.com/intl/te/. In general, we shouldn't translate any proper names or trademarks. Also, in case of browser.search.defaultenginename and browser.search.order.X prefs, changing the values without changing the search plugins will break the desired behavior. Please submit a patch for review to revert this changeset. Thanks!

Stas, If you check the yahoo telugu website http://in.telugu.yahoo.com/ you can see that Yahoo uses telugu word apart from its logo in English. Google is not doing the same, as it does not have a distinct trademark except for color and a particular font. Here the intent of Firefox is to provide the search engine names in the local language, so that users who get as much as the feel of local language interface. May be Firefox need to improve the way it handles search plug in names and the actual URLs. Any way, for now I will update as suggested by you.
