User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.8) Gecko/2009032609 Firefox/3.0.8 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.8) Gecko/2009032609 Firefox/3.0.8 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) My Firefox was working fine the last time I used it, nothing odd happened and nothing weird was installed or anything of the sort happened besides me doing a hard shut down instead of going though the normal shut down procedures, however I've done this many times without any problems to any of the programs on my computer Firefox included. I shut down my computer and when I reopened Firefox hours later I was greeted to a blank page instead of my homepage, found out my bookmarks and history were deleted, I can't save any pages as new bookmarks, I can still use the browser and manually type out websites and access them but when I change to a different tab the site address I typed still remains on top. I haven't found any other problems so far, my add-ons, themes, and toolbars are still available and useable and I haven't experienced problems with pages loading (works normally besides the aforementioned problems). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Unsure how it happened,it worked fine normally when I turned off my computer and when I turned it back on hours later I had this problem. 2. 3. Actual Results: Not sure on how I could reproduce the problem Expected Results: I suspected it should have worked normally. I will try removing Firefox and re-installing to see if it still acts the same way or if it fixes the problem.

Sounds like places bustage - moving over to the places component to diagnose or dup. This bug doesn't have to be hidden.

some possibilities: - places.sqlite file in your profile is locked by an hang firefox.exe process in memory or by an antivirus/security software. - places.sqlite file has become corrupt (due to the hard shutdown), you can check this by opening it with sqlite manager add-on and executing the query "PRAGMA INTEGRITY_CHECK" (that should return ok). - places.sqlite integrity check returns ok, but internal datas are corrupt, in such a case you should try sending the file to us by mail for analysis.

no answer, resolving incomplete, this sounds like db corruption though.
