486483 - Mail in gmail server do not get deleted

When the mails are downloaded in the inbox or when deleted from thunderbird inbox, they are not deleted from the mail GMAIL inbox.


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Configure gmail account.
2.Download the mails into thunderbird.
3.Mails remain in the gmail account
OR
1. Delete the message from thunderbird inbox
2. The message in the gmail inbox remains
Actual Results:  
the mails are not getting deleted from the main server

Expected Results:  
the mails if deleted from the inbox of thunderbird should get deleted from the gmail inbox i.e the server

This is a configuration issue - you have checked somewhere to leave the messages on the server. What doe your server settings look like ?

Your second use case does not apply to pop (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post_Office_Protocol) but would if you would be using imap.

Ok i will tell the configuration details

1. Check for new message - checked
2. Check new message - time given
3. Auto download new message - checked
4. Fetch header only - unchecked
5. Leave message on server - unchecked
6. Empty thrash on exit - checked

Now i have one question here
If i make the point 5 checked and also select the option UNTIL I DELETE THEM - means the message would remain on server till i delete them from thunderbird inbox.

this is just a question but the settings are as above.

This is a gmail "feature" for pop3, deleted mails are staying in gmail if you use pop3.
