A table with width="1" and cells with input fields will cause overlaps of elements. This can make the form unusable. Originally found on CNN due to a typo.

Confirming the bug win WinNT 2000081504. Mozilla should handle this like IE5.

Updated the example to put the <form> back in. Without the <form>, NS4.7 doesn't show the input fields at all. With <form>, it shows them correctly. Current build of Mozilla (20000821) overlaps them badly. Note: this also shows up on CNN's homepage (which was where I found the bug)!!!!

FreeBSD 4.1 20001025xx trunk This problem is still there. Can be pretty problematical when the elements of a table overlap and one is an input field... Since this can make a page unusable raising to major and nominating for ns6.01 CNN changed their content and it doesn't happen on their homepage anymore - at least for today.
Severity: normal → major
Keywords: ns601
