Hey Paul, Could you figure out if this is a problem in Drupal 6+? I'm thinking they probably fixed this. If it hasn't been fixed yet, could you file a bug with the Drupal team? Please and Thanks!

This happens with file attachments to Documents/Events as well.
Severity: normal → major
Summary: File attachment to project fails with no error message → File attachment to project/document/event fails with no error message

It's a problem specific to the upload module on D5 when the site is under SSL but generic with regards to content type.

I can see the problem exists on production and that Drupal watchdog reports no errors. My first though was that perhaps the files/ directory is not writable by apache ? Would somebody have a quick look at the apache logs and see what happened to the file firefoxdfp_2.jpg that was uploaded with http://www.spreadfirefox.com/node/5035 ? Best, Paul
