The problem is that if you have more than one toolbar and turn off display of a non-primary toolbar, that state is not remembered between launches. The state of the MAIN Toolbar (Mail Toolbar) IS remembered between launches. To reproduce: - Create a secondary toolbar 'Foo' and add a button to it - Disable Foo in View->Toolbars->Foo - Quit / Relaunch Thunderbird - Notice 'Foo' toolbar is displayed - Repeat process with 'Mail Toolbar' and note that its 'off' state is remembered between launches.
