Steps to reproduce:
1)Create new profile with build
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1b4pre) Gecko/20090407 Shiretoko/3.5b4pre (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
2)Quit Shiretoko
3)Update to build Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1b4pre) Gecko/20090408 Shiretoko/3.5b4pre and launch browser

Result:
Shiretoko starts up extremly slowly up to 2 minutes.

Regression range:
Works with: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1b4pre) Gecko/20090407 Shiretoko/3.5b4pre (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Fails with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1b4pre) Gecko/20090408 Shiretoko/3.5b4pre

I noticed the same issue for Shredder (bug 488087)

Can anyone confirm what Omar's seeing - please note that the key seems to be creating a fresh profile.

Omar: are you saying yes or no to the import bookmarks question when starting up Shiretoko for the first time?

I create a new profile using Profile Manager and then I can't see any question about importing bookmarks. The problem with Shiretoko and Shredder started on 8th of April. I hadn't noticed the same problem before that date.

I re-tested it again with current build (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1b4pre) Gecko/20090413 Shiretoko/3.5b4pre (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)). It takes about 2 seconds to launch Shiretoko 20090407 build (with new profile). With current build it takes about 16 seconds until I can see a start page.

yep, Aakashd will run some user scenarios and log some times against this build.

so this WFM in the following scenarios with < 2 second start up every time:

w/ only Shiretoko builds:
+ external install 4/7 to 4/8 builds
--> new profile each time: twice after fresh OS startup and once after install/uninstall of Shiretoko

--> same profile: once after install/uninstall

+ SW update from 4/7-4/21



w/ Fx 3.1b3 release and Shiretoko
+ external install 4/7 to 4/8 builds
--> new profile each time: twice after fresh OS startup and once after install/uninstall of Shiretoko

--> same profile: once after install/uninstall



w/ Fx3.1b3 release, Shiretoko and Minefield (latest) nightlies
--> new profile each time: twice after fresh OS startup and once after install/uninstall of Shiretoko

Also, I tested this across a Win Vista VM using a default setup with nothing else installed (no plugins, etc.). 

Omar, can you add your setup (plugins, startup home page) to the bug?

Removing this from the nomination list for now, if we can isolate and confirm a reproducible problem here, please renom.

Unfortunatelly I don't have access to computer with XP installed :(

It starts faster now. But I think it was related to HP drivers-somehow one day
they slowed starting process of Tb and Fx. Anyway I've re-installed Vista and
Firefox works fine now. But I haven't installed my printer yet.
