We need a new Linux server with the desktop packages installed and running for us to setup the new results server and comparison tool. For now it's fine for this to just be a VM but eventually we may need to move it to dedicated hardware.
Results server? Why do you need the desktop packages? What exactly do you need package wise?
We've been developing a test results server for some time using Python and CouchDB. The desktop packages are for the comparison tool which starts the browser and takes screenshots using canvas. Any desktop package will do Gnome, KDE, whatever. We can handle installing the other packages needed for the results server. We don't expect another team to maintain the services on the box as the code is still in heavy development.
Phong, this can probably be a CentOS VM on qm-vmware02?

Will CentOS 5.2 work for this?
I don't see why not.
How big of a drive do you need? What would you like to name this server?
100GB should be fine. name:brasstacks
Do you really need 100 GB? This ESX host only has 300 GB of disk available total.
30 or 40 is fine for now I was just thinking that the dataset might eventually get much larger.
is the sandbox network fine for this?
Port 80 needs to be publicly accessible.
sm-brasstacks01 10.2.76.100 passing over to dmoore to add the external interface.

We'll have the external interface and DNS entry created shortly
brasstacks.mozilla.com (63.245.208.215) access allowed to port 80

How do I login to this box? I'm VPN'd in to MPT, ssh mrogers@10.2.76.100 using my LDAP password and no such luck.
What is the login info? It was never emailed to me.

Mikeal, We're upgrading this server to enable use of your LDAP credentials. It will be available shortly, I'll update this bug once we're ready.
any movement on this?

Hey Derek, it's been two weeks, and you guys just updated the LDAP account system last night. Is everything all ready to go here? Can you give us an update? I recognize that everyone's busy, but it's been over a month since the server was ready, and we still can't log in to it, which is just ridiculous. We need this server to finish a Q2 goal. Please let us know what the status is. Thanks.
Sorry guys, I have Derek working on 650 Castro stuff - pushing this over to chizu.

Sorry for the delay, this has been worked on recently and I should have it resolved later today.
LDAP login is working, you can ssh in with your ldap accounts now.

Trevor, thanks so very very much! A drink is yours next time you're in mountain view or I'm in singapore, whichever happens first.
