For the past month or so doing keyword searches in the FF address bar causes FF to beachball and hang hard, and the only way to break out of it is to force-quit the application. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a keyword search (google is a good example- navigate to google.com, right-click on the search field and create a keyword search. I use "?" as my google keyword trigger.) 2. Try typing a keyword search - using the above example, if I type "? this is a test keyword search in firefox" it eventually hangs the browser (see attached sample).
Also - this is 100% reproducible in shiretoko but not in the trunk nightlies.
Do keyword searches with a different keyword still work fine? I use keyword searches all the time on Shiretoko nightlies without a problem.
Seems to be reproducible with others as well. Basically to reproduce if you type any keyword search and then quickly type "test test test" repeatedly you get the beachball and hang.
Maybe is it autocompleting?
Adding some places folks.
What is your useragent and OS?
That was a 1.9.1 shark build from 20090526, on OS X.
Reporter: Would you mind submitting your places.sqlite statistics to the "Places Stats" site? https://places-stats.mozilla.com/
ddahl: Submitted!
I think I found the culprit (conflict with the XUL/Migemo extension). Marking as resolved for now.
