User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.0.8) Gecko/2009032608 Firefox/3.0.8 Build Identifier: eudora 8.0b6 After launching beta version of newest eudora release, I selected to import settings from the previous version (6.4.2). The crash occurred as the import wizard reached "Address Books." Wizard progress window remains on screen, but cannot quit the application. Reproducible: Didn't try
Can you provide a crash ID ? (see documentation at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Breakpad)

Summary: crash on importing settings from eudora 6.4 → hang while importing settings from eudora 6.4
Whiteboard: closeme 2009-07-14
Version: unspecified → Trunk
I have the same problem. To replicate steps: - I had Eudora 6.2.3.4 installed in C:\Program Files\Eudora - I asked Eudora 8 to install to C:\Program Files\Eudora8 (in case I had problems) - The installer completed successfully - It asks what to import, I select "Eudora" - It start to import ("Import Wizard" windows, Importing...) - It goes through "Account Settings" withing ms (not noticeable) - It stops in "Address Books" indefinitely, no action - The only option is to use the "Close" box (top red cross) which exits the "import" window and starts Eudora 8, but with nothing imported except the accounts. Problem is: this is not a "crash", so there is no "crash ID" information (I've checked in "Crash Reports" and there is nothing there from today. I'm not sure what information can be sent in order to help debug, other than to send my address book itself... Alvar

I am unable to reproduce this. All my test imports complete without a crash or hang.
