Just like there is a button for marking current message as deleted, it would be nice if there were a button to compact current folder. This action is currently available only via menus.

Valid enhancement request, confirming.

Adding a button that is not shown by default should be easier now that bug 413385 (customizable toolbars for MailNews) is fixed, adding the code for the button probably isn't a big deal either. What's left (AFAICS) is the icon in all the different variants (two themes, big and small, highlighted and normal). Someone would need to work on that first.

They have this in Thunderbird so I assume it would just require porting to/activating in SeaMonkey Mail?
