i pressed the close button of the firefox browser; it asked if i want to save the current tabs. i sayd ok. 
next step i updated an firefox addon named babelfish;
i opened the browser;
all saved tabs are deleted. 



Reproducible: Always



Expected Results:  
it should have saved my previous active websites.

This sounds like something that should be reported to babelfish. Just a question, did you follow these steps (you didn't give steps to reproduce, so not sure)
1. Exit and save session
2. Open Firefox and install update
3. restart Firefox and lose tabs?

I have the same trouble on both Firefox 3.0 and 3.5.

Close with multiple tabs open.
Click Save and Quit.
Restart Firefox later.
Firefox finds an update to ANY add-on.
Click on Install.
Click on Continue.
Firefox now opens to the home page, not the previously saved tabs.

Even worse - I just noticed that it not only doesn't remember the saved tabs, it actually erased a FULL DAY worth of the history. This just happened to me today, and ALL of yesterday is gone from the history. There is a big gap in the history, with the last thing before the gap being 11:54 am on the 3rd, and then the gap until 8:35 am today (5th).

Again, this is independent of the add-on: it's happened to me with DownThemAll!, Research Word, and AdBlock Plus. Just having the auto-update try to update any add-on is enough to cause this problem.

I'm running 64 bit Xubuntu 9.04 with all the latest updates. I'm using the latest Firefox 3.5 from the Ubuntu repos, but this also happened in 3.0 as well.

Reporter, please retest with Firefox 3.6.12 or later in a fresh profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). Also update your plugins (flash, adobe reader, java, quicktime, silverlight, etc.) Go to the developer's website and download the latest version from there. If you no longer see this issue, please close this bug as RESOLVED, WORKSFORME. If you do see the bug, please post a comment.

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.12 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
