Every time I attempt to move E-mails from the Inbox file to the Trash file, I get an ALERT that the Trash file is full, while it is empty.

  ------- Comment #29 From Ed Mack 2009-04-24 00:12:38 PDT

I am just reporting this situation. It is as is described. The Trash file
claims it is full, when it is actually empty. Any attempts to move additional
E-mails into the Trash file meets with an Alert message. I have screen copied
this Alert, and will supply the Jpeg copy, should you want it. Furthermore,
this Alert message, and its ensuing situation started immediately after
accepting and loading the newest version download, TODAY, 23 April, 2009
'
As I look at the version 2.0.0.21 I realize that the version being offered was 8.0.0.9, and I believe that that is the version number of used for Internet Explorer, but the Download and Install windows were labeled as though they were from Mozilla, [and I keep getting screen messages wanting to load scripts].

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Thunderbird
2.Move any E-mail from the In Box to the Trash.
3.Watch the screen for the ALERT box.
Actual Results:
ALERT dialog box appears with message that the Trash file is full.

Expected Results:
Usually the offered E-mails are accepted by the Trash file.

I can supply a screen copied Jpeg copy of the ALERT that keeps popping up.

Please supply screenshot. Are you suing POP, imap ?
Could you take the time to try thunderbird 3.0 beta twoo and see if you still have the issue with it ?
Same as bug 468722? (Whatever that is...)

Sounds same phenomenon as Bug 494706 which is closed as DUP of Bug 482486.

Try next.
 1. Keep back up of Trash and Trash.msf file.
 2. "Empty Trash", and restart Tb. File size of Trash is reduced to 0?
Setting dependency to 482486 for ease of tracking.
Depends on: 482486

To Ed Mack(bug opener):

If you encounered problem again, keep backup of Trash & Trash.msf(or Junk & Junk.msf if problem occurs on Junk), and try next for recovery.
(1) Shift+Delete of some mails if there are mails in Trash, (2) "Compact Folder" of Trash and wait for end of compaction, (3) "Empty Trash", (4) Terminate Tb and delete file of Trash. Check file size of "Trash"(no file extension) at each step, and if file sized is not reduced, go next step.
Depends on: 494706
No longer depends on: 482486
Closing as DUP of bug 494706.

To bug opener, please re-open, if you'll find evidence that your problem is not dup of bug 494706.
