If you drag a tab from the tab bar outside of the window you see a little thumbnail of the tab follow. When you release the button the thumbnail slides back to where it came from which is the indicator of a failed drag attempt on OSX. However the tab does detach and a new window does open. This doesn't happen when you detach a tab by just dragging to the content area.

Tested with 3.5b4 build 1
This is also an issue on Linux.
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1b4) Gecko/20090423 Firefox/3.5b4
Doesn't happen on Windows e.g. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1b4) Gecko/20090423 Firefox/3.5b4

I think Mano's working on a fix for this, though am not sure. Mano: I bet one of the Mac guys would love to help make this better!
