Are you sure your Gmail settings are set to enable this feature? Verify this by navigating to "Settings" in your Gmail on the top right, scroll down to the bottom of the "General" tab and under "Attachments" make sure the advanced features are turned on.
Also, please try this with _all_ labs features turned off, by using Gmail through this link: http://mail.google.com/mail/?labs=0 (if you have any of them on) and with a fresh Firefox profile, see comment 1.
Adding qawanted.

The advanced feature was turned on.I installed the adobe flash player. Now it's working but only sometimes. Most of the time it doesn't work.If I make a fresh profile is this meaning that I must delete all my passwords, history and bookmarks?
As I see from comment 2 the fresh profile doesn't work.

Yeah, that's another requirement, you _must_ have flash installed for it to work, iirc.

No. See the page linked to, you'll make an alternative profile for testing, and leave your old profile in tact.

Reporter, are you still seeing this issue with Firefox 3.6.12 or later in safe mode? If not, please close. These links can help you in your testing.
