Details

If you close all other windows while Software Update window is open and downloading an update, there is no way to get any of the other windows back.  This prevents the use of Thunderbird for anything while updating the software.  This happens because only the "Thunderbird" menu is available while in the Software Update window.  Ideally, the entire menu bar should be available with all options disabled except those for opening available windows, such as the main mail window.
