User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:22.214.171.124) Gecko/2009040821 Firefox/3.0.9 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:126.96.36.199) Gecko/2009040821 Firefox/3.0.9 Periodically (2-3 times a day), while logged into Facebook, clicking on the "Home" link in the top navigation bar causes Firefox to freeze, and slows down the rest of the activity of my computer as well to the point where my computer might as well be frozen. The only way to get out of it is to force quit using the task manager; however because everything is operating so slowly, it is difficult to get task manager to open. Once it does open, it shows that I have two windows of Firefox open, even if I only have one, and sometimes it opens up many task manager windows, even if I only hit ctrl + alt + del once. Eventually I manage to get Firefox to quit, but the Crash Reporter does not file a report. Oh, and this happens while using Safe Mode. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Be logged into facebook 2. Click on the "home" link 3. Actual Results: If it happens, Firefox completely freezes and must be shut down using the task manager. A crash report is not submitted. Expected Results: It should not have frozen.
This same thing is happening to me. I am running the Mac Leopard OSX. I have had to restart my computer multiple times today in order to "fix" the problem.
I've upgraded to version 3.0.10, which came out yesterday and which in the release notes says it fixed a "major stability issue", so I'm hoping that this will solve the problem!! If not, I'll post here again...
Well...I haven't had *this* exact problem yet since upgrading...but I have managed to crash it. Crash reporter came up though, so I'll post the report. I was just scrolling when it crashed, but I had recently sent an email from gmail, so it might be that that bug is still not fixed... http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/370fbdd1-4403-4bfa-86e7-a7d362090428?p=1

Okay, clearly 3.0.10 has not entirely solved the problem because I've managed to do it again. It hasn't been happening as frequently, but I just now got it to crash again while clicking on the "Home" link on Facebook.
Karen, are you still getting frequent crashes at Facebook after updating to Firefox 3.5?
I really don't know anymore since now most of the time I use Chrome...
Ok. I don't think there's enough information here to tell whether we've already fixed the crash, then.
