User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; es-ES; rv:1.9.0.9) Gecko/2009042113 Ubuntu/8.04 (hardy) Firefox/3.0.9 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; es-ES; rv:1.9.0.9) Gecko/2009042113 Ubuntu/8.04 (hardy) Firefox/3.0.9 Firefox 3 doesn't recognize Network Solutions L.L.C. authority so every SSL Certificate generated by this CA is blocked by the browser showing to the user a false warning message and giving the option to add an exception: ===============MESSAGE 1================================== Secure Connection Failed *.mydomains.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_user) ... Or you can add an exception... ===============MESSAGE 2================================== La conexión segura ha fallado *.mydomains.com usa un certificado de seguridad no válido. El certificado sólo es válido para *.webfg.com. (Código de error: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open any URL https://... who had a Network Solutions L.L.C SSL certificate. 2. 3. Actual Results: If you don't add an exception the website doesn't show up in the browser. Expected Results: The verification/validation of the SSL Certificate an authority must be transparent for the user.
We need an example of a failing URL to be sure, but it is quite likely to be a wrong configuration on the server - by not providing the full certificate chain; See bug 457852
Not sure if it applies to your situation: Read: http://www.networksolutions.com/support/installation-of-an-ssl-certificate-on-microsoft-iis-5-x-6-x-2/ Pay close attention to the steps regarding "Intermediate Certificates".
