Ever since updating Firefox on April 25th, 2009, the pointer isn't acting correctly. While a new tab is downloading, the hourglass stays on when navigating the tab bar making it difficult to close old tabs. Also, the pointer stays an hourglass for a longer time making it difficult to navigate a page before the page is fully downloaded. Buttons and links are hard to use because the pointer is busy. I downloaded this most recent version hoping it would fix the issue, but it is still there. Never had it happen before.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Don't have to do anything special--just browse.
Actual Results:
Mouse stays hourglass instead of switching over to pointer.
Expected Results:
Mouse should change to pointer making it possible to navigate tabs, buttons, and links.

Already tried http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode ?
Clarification: I misunderstood my husband about the links and buttons on the actual web pages. It seems that the problem with the "busy mouse" is limited to the browser panel--(tabs, navigation buttons, menus, etc.) When trying to navigate the browser panel while pages are downloading, the mouse pointer shows as an hourglass instead of an arrow. I did try safemode--same issue occurred. Seems to have something to do with upgraded version of Firefox.
I have no idea why, but the problem has stopped as suddenly as it started. The pointer is working fine now. As far as I know I haven't made any changes that would affect this, but I did end up rebooting my computer several times in a day for various unrelated reasons, and now everything seems back to normal in Firefox.
