I am running Norton Internet Security 4.0 on my Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11 Yesterday I was notified by you of the Firefox 3.0.10 update and did the update. Now I get a warning flag that states that Norton Confidential does not work with this version of Firefox. That it only works with version 1.5 or newer, well this is a newer version of Firefox but it still won't load Norton Confidential to work with Firefox. I tried reloading the Norton security software and it actually put Firefox in the trash when I restarted the system, I had to retrieve it. There is something different in this version that is not recognized that was in the older version of software. Have not had any problems with older versions of Firefox. Thanks for any assistance that you can provide.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Quit Firefox and restart
2.
3.
Actual Results:
All I am doing is quitting Firefox and restarting it. The warning comes up every time!

Expected Results:
Warning flag came up

Loaded the Norton Confidential tool bar, don't know what else to call it, it is usually at the top of the screen just under the bookmarks tool bar, and went on with web browsing.
Nothing is different except the newer version of Firefox.
You have to ask the Norton developers for an update.
It seems that they added a version string in their addon that their toolbar addon is only compatible with Firefox 1.5.X to 3.0.9.

This can not be fixed by us

So do I wait for a resolution on your end, or should I still try to get something to happen by contacting NORTON?
Basically, this means we're aware it's happening and happening to numerous people. We (Mozilla) are going to get in contact with Norton to try to address this (it's probably going to require an update from them since this is likely an issue with the way they read Firefox version numbers). You're welcome to contact them yourself to try to push them to fix this. If/when someone hears back from Norton about a new update being pushed to fix this or if someone takes other steps on our end, they'll post in this bug and you'll be notified via e-mail.

The Finalversion of Firefox works with NCO - only Final - The Nightly not.
Ask Norton or use the new Safari - Final - only Final - from Applesite.

This is an old Bug and this was a special issue with the 3.0.10 Version, the ten was the problem for the addon.

basti: The Reporter used a FINAL Firefox version and why should he downgrade to Safari ?
