It would be nice if you could offer a standalone compile of Firefox for linux. For example, on Mac OS X any user on the system can download Firefox and install it in his/hers home directory and just use it. However on Linux there are a lot of external dependencies (GTK 2.10) that just not might be available on a corporate or university system.

Hence a compile/package with all required libs etc included internally would be very useful.

This is a mass search for bugs which are in the Firefox General component, are
UNCO, have not been changed for 500 days and have an unspecified version. 

Reporter, can you please update to Firefox 3.6.10 or later, create a fresh profile, http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/managing+profiles, and test again. If you still see the issue, please update this bug. If the issue is gone, please set the status to RESOLVED > WORKSFORME.

Our Linux tarballs are relocatable the same way mac builds are (they don't require a fixed installation path).

We are not going to attempt to bundle up all of GTK and the rest of the system libraries, just as we don't bundle the Core* libraries on mac.
