490825 - New mail notification loops on one account when multiple accounts have new messages

I have seven email accounts, some POP3, some IMAP.

When I start Thunderbird, if all of my accounts have new messages waiting, whichever account's new messages alert displays first (this varies) will be displayed identically seven times, instead of a separate alert for each of my seven accounts that has new mail.

Similarly, if multiple accounts have received new mail between timed polling of the servers, the next time the servers are polled I will have one alert message shown repeatedly, depending on how many accounts had new mail, instead of each account with new mail showing its own alert.



Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have new messages waiting in several email accounts
2. Open Thunderbird
3. Observe new mail notification messages
Actual Results:  
The same message was displayed, removed and redisplayed several times

Expected Results:  
Message from first server displayed then removed, message from second server displayed then removed, etc.

There was something like this in Seamonkey a long time ago, but I too could not find this listed in Thunderbird.

To add to this, all future new email notifications (until I close the session) repeats the initial notification, even if it is from a different e-mail account.
