User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042523 Ubuntu/9.04 (jaunty) Firefox/3.0.10
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042523 Ubuntu/9.04 (jaunty) Firefox/3.0.10

The upper part of the cutted text line is placed at the bottom of the affected printed page, and the lower part of the text line, is placed at the top of the subsequent printed page.

Some times the text lines adjust exactly to de border page, so the text is not cutted. In this URL, for me and with the following steps, I can reproduce the problem and obtain the cutted text between pages.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Load page with the given URL
2.Select text from 'R' of "Reportajes" to last 'm' of "mk3@dsalud.com"
3.Do a Ctrl+P
4.Select "Print to File"
5.Select Output format: PDF, and type the filename before predefined name ".pdf"
6.Go to "Options" tab ("Opciones" in spanish)
7.Select "Print Selection" ("Imprimir selección" in spanish)
8.Click on "Print"
9.Open new PDF and corroborate that the text lines are cutted between pages
Actual Results:
Text line are almost allways cutted between printed pages.

Expected Results:
Last text line is at the bottom of one page, and next text line is at the beggining of the next page, without cutting it.

This problem occurs printing directly to the printer also.

Reproduced in Windows XP with PDFCreator to make the PDF -- I think the problem is internal to Firefox Priting.

Because of that I selected "All Hardware Platform" and "All Operating Systems".
I am most sure this problem is platform-independent.

I selected Severity to Major because I consider "Text Page Printing" to be "A major feature".

Thanks.

This is a product of the way "print selection" currently works in Gecko -- we render to a single long page, and then we snip it into exact-page-sized chunks.

(In normal printing, however, we render to separate page frames from the get-go, and we don't have this problem)

This bug isn't likely to be fixed unless we do an overhaul of the "Print Selection" code.
Summary: Printing: text lines are cutted between pages → Print selection: text lines are cutted between pages
Still an issue in Firefox 3.5.5.
