I Use the German Version of Thunderbird and on all Beta-Versions (3.0.1b, 3.0.2b) the Othography Check did not work.
I f send an E-Mail the Window fpr the Othography Check open, but no inserts in it.
I mustr klick two Times on 'Send' to close it and send the Mail.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.write an E-Mail
2.click on 'Send' in the e-Mail window
3.click on 'Send' in the Windows of the Orthography check two times
Actual Results:  
same as evereytime

1) set check spelling before sending
2) write an email
3) click send

See the issue confirming on vista. MacOSX does not exhibit this. But I think this is a by design, you confirm sending your email once the email spelling as been checked.

Temped by invalid.

Joachim if you disable check spelling before sending you won't have to click twice on send - or did I completely misunderstood your issue ?
