If the bookmark toolbar contains a bookmark folder far to the right, and that folder in turn contains a sub-folder, then that sub-folder will open to the left. (See provided screenshot.) Trying to drag and drop a bookmark into a specific location in such a sub-folder usually fails: the sub-folder closes just as one tries to drag the bookmark into it, presumably because of the gap between the sub-folder and the containing folder. It works if one drags fast enough.
