I'm seeing response uris that look like: ...openid.sreg.nickname=&openid.trust_root=http... So the relying party can't get at the nickname.
Nickname is now the shortened version of your id. We don't have facility to accept an additional parameter to set it at this time (though it would be easy to do if we wanted).
