49198 - login dialog cannot be cancelled

Build 2000081609/Linux

hitting "Cancel", "Ok" and closing the dialog window only result in the dialog
reappearing.

To reproduce:
1.) Go to http://www.freshmeat.net
2.) click on the "contribute" link at the upper right hand corner of the
browser. This will cause a login dialog to appear.
3.) Try to cancel this login without entering a correct username/passwd combination.

As I said, I tried clicking cancel, ok, closing the window and many combinations
thereof and was unable to cancel the login process, which I was able to do under
NS4.7, getting a nice page from freshmeat telling me that I needed to sign up
for a free account before I could "contribute."

The symptoms look exactly the same as bug 45261 when I tried this.  Marking
duplicate.
