When I navigate to certain web pages, e.g. the BBC news page URL above, pressing the quote/apostrophe button to activate quick find (links only) does not work.  I need to click on the screen somewhere with the mouse first before it will work.
I notice other commands (e.g. F6 to select the URL) also do not work on pages like this.
I think the common factor among web pages that don't work is if there is video/audio on the page.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on link with video/audio e.g. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8043447.stm
2. Press ' or F6
Actual Results:  
Nothing happens

Expected Results:  
For ' - quick find (links only) should be displayed.
For F6 - URL should be highlighted

Quick find (links only) is a great feature!  Fixing this would make it even better!
Please let me know if this is a duplicate of another bug.

I see this however on every Firefox version I tried, so this is not a (recent) regression. Pressing ' a second time invokes the quick find bar.
This could indeed be a duplicate.

Yes it appears to have been like this for a while.

However, pressing ' a second time does not work for me.

This bug was reported using Firefox 3.0 or older, which is no longer supported. The bug has also not been changed in over 500 days and is still in UNCO.
Reporter, please retest this bug in Firefox 3.6.10 or later using a fresh profile, http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/managing+profiles. If you still see this problem, please update the bug. If you no longer see the bug, please set the resolution to RESOLVED, WORKSFORME.
