Prism (and Firefox) don't recognize my existing internet connection and start in offline mode. The reason for this is the NetworkManager issue described in bug #424626, and is not related to Prism, but when Prism starts in offline mode, the error page is less than helpful:
Offline Mode
This document cannot be displayed while offline. To go online, uncheck Work Offline from the File menu.
The browser is operating in its offline mode and cannot connect to the requested item.
* Is the computer connected to an active network?
* Place the browser in online mode and try again.
There is no (obvious) way to place Prism in online mode, and there is no file menu. I've seen the -tpoffline command line option, but there's no equivalent -tponline option.
When a new web application is created, Prism starts in online mode, and all is well. Every time this web application is opened later with the desktop shortcut, the application starts in offline mode. A very crude workaround is to delete the web app and create it again.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create new web application
2. Close Prism
3. Start Prism (via desktop shortcut)
The behavior will only be seen when you're also affected by issue #424626.
Actual Results:
Prism starts in offline mode; no way to "go online".
Expected Results:
- different message on "offline mode" page
- or (better) a way to set Prism to "online mode"
