Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042316 Firefox/3.0.10 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
After Firefox install on Win 7 all looks fine until next restart, after that the pinned firefox icon turns into an "unknown filetype" icon. Attempting to change it back to the firefox icon in the shortcut properties Windows returns an error "cannot find %Program files%\firefox.exe.
I suspect this is due to an error in the executable with the relative link for the program files folder. the x86 version installs into Program files (x86). changing it into Program files to fix this turns the updater unavailable (help menu item disappeared)
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. install on x64 windows 7 with default install dir
2. restart the computer
3. open shortcut properties and click Change icon
Actual Results:
error message described
Expected Results:
no need to change the icon at all
other menu items disappeared as well, there are places for them reserved in the menus, but only blank lines visible, and not clickable.

Please don't talk about different items in one bug report. One bug should only cover one issue.
Regarding the icon not shown problem. You said that you have entered "%Program files%\firefox.exe" as location? That's the wrong folder. Firefox doesn't get installed directly under the programs folder. Please use the correct folder.
For the other problem with menus you should restart Firefox with the default theme. I believe it is a theme issue.

If you continue to see this with firefox 3.5.7 or 3.6 or later, in a new profile, then please reopen. http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles
