Based on community feedback, there is a need for the designer by-line to have less restrictions (eg, no spaces allowed). Currently, a designer's user name serves as his/her by-line. After discussion, the team decided that adding a "display name" field to the sign up flow is the best way forward. Next steps are as follows:

1. Toby to make the necessary DB changes. We should keep the character limit. Other requirements we may want to impose should be discussed in the bug.

2. Once Toby has made modifications to the DB, Ryan to add a "display name" field to the sign up flow within "create your own". 

Other issues will likely arise during implementation, and those should be discussed in this bug.

Will need thorough testing, as this change runs through almost all the functions of the site.

Will open a new bug for users to be able to edit their display name and description.

Reopening, though I think this might just be that staging isn't updated; http://hg.mozilla.org/labs/personas/rev/0f600ae7698e was committed.

Display name is part of the user account creation process, not the persona creation process. It's 1-1 with the username.

(Yes, you'll need to create a new user to get a display name for now)

Sorry, Suneel did say "sign up flow within Create Your Own" -- my mistake.  I'll verify this today.

Username in this case was "stephendonner86", and display name was "This is a test of display userna" -- tested that it also alerted me when I exceeded 32 chars.

Verified FIXED; see screenshot in comment 6.
