Content encoding error page is shown, rather than the web site.
Note that the site tries to flip to a local region version of the site. This might be a partial cause.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Repeatable on the above version on Fedora 11 linux Preview/rawhide.
1. load the qantas web site.
Actual Results:  
Problem loading page
Content Encoding Error
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.
    *   Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

Expected Results:  
page shown.

Works normally on F10 x86_64

also used to work last week on the machine that used to have F10 i386 and the same 3.0.10 version.
I opened a new bug since this seems like a sudden regression from the current release, even though someone has mentioned it at the end of bug 366023 started 2007-01-05.

That error is in many cases a real error but could be probably a temporary issue.
Did you already tried to clear the disk cache or reloaded the page with shift+reload ?

Yes, restarting browser, reload, shift-reload made no difference. This was repeated, just before the below.

Did a Edit|Preferences clear now. The web page now works.

It would have been some time ago (month) when I last looked at that site. It's surprising that it would still be cached (50MB set). Is it because the cache format or indexing has changed that clear now helps ?

If so, perhaps a firefox install should clear cache as part of the install ?
Or would that be the responsibility of the linux distribution ?

moving to networking, this is not the first report about a content-encoding error that can only be fixed by clearing the disk cache.

The cache format didn't change, if it would change the cache version number would be raised which would let Gecko delete the Cache on startup.

Did some checks with firefox 32.0.2:
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:32.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/32.0

Tests tried:
- qantas.com kicks to www.qantas.com.au: OK.
- https://www.qantas.com.au: OK.
- http://support2.microsoft.com/?kbid=316503

So all these working OK. It's been so long, I can't remember it having happened at all! Closing.
