User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; nl; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042316 Firefox/3.0.10 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; nl; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042316 Firefox/3.0.10 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) While I love the Awesome Bar, I find it inconvenient that it only searches my bookmarks's titles and URL's. I can add keywords and descriptions as much as I want, they are not considered by Awesome Bar's search algorithm (or so it seems). Today I decided to report this as a bug, because I didn't want to touch the title of a bookmark, and the URL didn't contain the keyword I expected to remember. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. bookmark http://www.roemertopf.de/english/rezepte_datenbank.php 2. add 'romertopf' to 'keywords' or 'description' 3. write 'romer' in awesome bar. The link is not found (at least not by my awesome bar) Actual Results: no link found Expected Results: link found
I'm not familiar with the Firefox code, but if someone could point me in the direction of where I can find awesome bar search algorithm, I would be glad to take a look myself to see if I find anything...

We'll need more details as to what the title of the bookmark, and the url are, as well as the keyword you added to the bookmark, and the word you were searching for. We should be looking at keywords.
I did detail a complete example under 'Steps to Reproduce'. If you try that, you'll have all the information you're asking for.

Information from around the launch of 3.0 seemed to imply that 'keywords' were used in Awesome Bar's search. Do you mean that in fact, they aren't supposed to be used yet? In that case, I'll wait :)

Not present in current beta of 3.5 (beta 4). It does, however, contain _another_ field in the 'properties' of a link, 'tag', and that field is searched.
