No search results are returned and the browser does not make any activitiy at all. I expect it is becase it starts with a number which would make it similar to an ip address. enjoy. :) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. put this text in search bar (with out quotes) "100% halal gijs kerbosch" 2. press enter 3. watch what happens....nothing, not even a blip on the radar screen Actual Results: No movement of browser to access google or change the current page Expected Results: Should load google search with the details I am looking for "100% halal gijs kerbosch" i.e. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rlz=1R1GGGL_en-GB___NL320&hs=0R1&q=100%25+halal+gijs+kerbosch&btnG=Search

Reporter, this works for me with WinXP. Could you please try to run Firefox in Safe Mode (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode) and check if it still happens? Do you see any errors in the Error Console which can be found under the tools menu?

Noticed that my original description of how to create fault is not clear. my appologies. point 1 should read. 1. put this text in address bar (with out quotes) "100% halal gijs kerbosch" the important bit being that this entering the search terms straight into the address area, not into the search box.

(In reply to comment #2) > Error: malformed URI sequence > Source File: chrome://google-toolbar-lib/content/toolbar.js > Line: 997 Your problem is being caused by Google's toolbar. See http://www.google.com/support/toolbar/bin/request.py?contact_type=problem to report the problem to Google or http://www.google.com/support/toolbar/bin/topic.py?hl=en&topic=15362 to uninstall it.

Sorry all, will report to the right place. I was under the mis-understanding that it was part of Firefox to be able to search straight through the address bar using google. Now I understand that it's not the case. thanks again, sorry to give ya the wrong bug. Andy

Andy, that's not a problem. Sounds good that we have figured out your issue and you know why it happens now. Thanks for your report anyway! Marking as verified.

Now I understand that > it's not the case. That is the case, but your comment 2 implies that you're not using the built-in functionality, but rather the Google Toolbar addon. If you'd rather use the built in location bar, you can reset your Toolbars to the default setting using View->Toolbars->Customize... and then clicking "restore default set".

Thanks, I gave that a crack with Google Tool Bar still installed, but even after a restart it still tries to use the google scripts. Error: malformed URI sequence Source File: chrome://google-toolbar-lib/content/toolbar.js Line: 997 same error. I expect I will just remove the toolbar from google. Thanks again for the pointers.
