Currently, MDC (dekiwiki) uses only one database server, which is the read/write master. For performance reasons, splitting the load between read/write and read-only will help a lot.

Sheppy, can you get a bug filed upstream for this and make it a top priority for their next big point release?
Summary: Dekiwiki should support using a read-only slave → Dekiwiki should support using (a) read-only slave(s)
MediaWiki already supports this, so they could use MediaWiki's model if they need to. Needs to support multiple slaves with different weights.

Eh, not necessarily. If that's hard to do, having their code support a single slave will work for me. That's what load balancers are for. We already have all of our slave pools behind load-balancing IP addresses anyway.

We have migrated to a new wiki platform (codenamed Kuma). This may have been fixed when we switched over. If not, please reopen.
