Not a www.mozilla.com bug. I'm thinking the proper place is Server Ops Although, this bug is so old, not sure if it's really needed anymore.

web-tech is dead.

And the justification for not redirecting the dead http://blog.mozilla.com/web-tech/ to a live stream is what exactly? I don't see that dead-ending people on a dead blog is a useful use of traffic. Note that https://developer.mozilla.org/web-tech/ was updated as late as last month. If you want to kill it, you might want to notify the people posting to it and lock it down. And redirect traffic to its replacement. In a way that doesn't break links to existing articles.

It's already been killed (bug 581551, bug 588257). Why add a redirect to a dead blog?

Yeah, well, it seems you forgot to inform waldo, who, as I mentioned, posted there last month. You also forgot to inform anyone who reads web-tech, as I don't see any post saying "Goodbye, world. Come visit our new reincarnation <insert-link-here>." Because the disputably dead blog I'm asking you to redirect to is a more up-to-date duplicate than the undisputably dead one I'm asking you to redirect.

Do check out bug 581551, specifically comments #9 and #10 That was why there was no announcement. I don't see the point of a redirect, either.

Bug 581551 comment #9 says there's no announcement because there will be a redirect. This bug is about setting up a redirect. So I don't see why you're closing this WONTFIX and citing that comment as the justification.
Because that was for web-tech to be redirected to hacks.m.o and this has nothing to with that?
Redirecting developer.mozilla.org/web-tech/ to hacks.m.o is all well and good, but what about this URL here? Why is it so important to you guys that this particular outdated URL be dead-ended like this, instead of redirected somewhere useful? IMO, the best solution is to redirect to developer.mozilla.org/web-tech/ because that URL presumably will be able to handle the proper redirection of individual articles, whereas shoving all of blog.mozilla.com/web-tech/ to hacks.mozilla.org wouldn't. But if you're adamant about it, then at least point people to hacks.mozilla.org. Honestly, I don't understand what the resistance here is for. Why are you all so adamant about not fixing this bug?
