User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; de; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042523 Ubuntu/9.04 (jaunty) Firefox/3.0.10 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; de; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042523 Ubuntu/9.04 (jaunty) Firefox/3.0.10 When i right click on a link and select "save target as..." the save-as dialog takes a few seconds to pop up. When I rightclick the link again in this time period the popup menu appears and underneath it the "save as" dialog appears. The popup-menu stays on top of the dialog and doesn't react on mouse events (klick, move). The save dialog is focused (according to window manager decorations) and reacts to clicks and keyboard events. If you close the dialog, the popup-menu is still there but now reacts to events (e.g. you could click on a menu-item) I managed it two times, that even the save-dialog was not responding as was the whole X11-Desktop. So I was not able to click on the gnome panel, switch tasks with Alt-Tab etc. I needed to switc hto the console and kill the firefox process for X11 to be useable again. However the timing seems to be important for this to happen, so I was only able to get this bug two times by accident... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. right click on a link 2. select "save target as..." in the context menu 3. right click on the link again before the save dialog appears Actual Results: focus is broken Expected Results: focus should be intact I'm using gnome 2.26.1 on Ubuntu 9.04. $ X -version X.Org X Server 1.6.0 Release Date: 2009-2-25 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0 Build Operating System: Linux 2.6.24-15-server x86_64 Ubuntu Current Operating System: Linux ubuntu 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:58:03 UTC 2009 x86_64 Build Date: 09 April 2009 02:11:54AM xorg-server 2:1.6.0-0ubuntu14 (buildd@crested.buildd) Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.x.org to make sure that you have the latest version.
I encountered a similar freeze the first time I installed Ffox 3.5.2: I installed All in One Sidebar 0.7.10, right-clicked the button Sidebar, customize. Dragging a button to the button sidebar, as soon as the button touched the sidebar, X11 stopped responding to both mouse and keyboard. Firefox froze with 2 copies of the button showing. After a few hours, the clock ran, but nothing responded, so I did ctrl-alt-backspace to kill X.org. Debian Etch-n-half, X.org 7.3, KDE 3.5.9.
