Details
Please add Arabic (ar) to the dropdown list of languages people would like to translate a page into.
If looking at http://support.mozilla.com/ar/kb/Private+Browsing then you'll get the impression of Arabic is available as a language articles can be translated into by "This article has not yet been translated to العربية (ar). Perhaps you could help us with that? Just click translate this page and follow the instructions.".
When viewing the list of languages ex. for the upper link http://support.mozilla.com/tiki-edit_translation.php?locale=ar&page=Private+Browsing then Arabic is not available.

Chris, this bug appears to be assigned to you. Are you working on it?

Sorry if I'm addressing later than you wanted.
In order to make sure we have a main contact person for the localization effort, we need someone to be the Arabic Firefox Support locale leader. This person would be responsible for the admin tasks for the ar locale, like translating the start pages and website interface, and ensuring that other Arabic community volunteers are getting up to speed and getting their contributions reviewed.
For more information, see <https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Localizing+Firefox+Support>.
Jesper, Anas, would either of you like to be the Arabic SUMO locale leader? If so, can you please let me know your support.mozilla.com username so I can give you the proper permissions.
I have also enabled ms on our staging server, so you can test things out, find any bugs, and get familiar with the system, before we enable it on support.mozilla.com. Thanks!
The staging server is <http://support-stage.mozilla.org/>. To access the site,
username: support
password: stage
The "Localizing Firefox Support" URL can also be found on the staging server:

To clarify, Chris is working on enabling this on support.mozilla.com but it's not active yet. He will mark the bug here as fixed once that's done.
In the meantime, is anyone willing to take on the lead of localizing Firefox Support into Arabic? I'm guessing that Jesper is Danish. ;)

Very Danish indeed.
Someone asked why he couldn't select Arabic from the list to translate a page, so I quickly made a bug to reflect his willingness to do some translation work.
And that adding a language selection on sumo would actually be such a bi... I didn't know.

I am willing to take the lead of Arabic l10n of SUMO.
My username on SUMO is: Linostar
BTW, I noticed that there are some messages in SUMO translated into Arabic (like in the login page). Where did they come from?

Jesper: thanks for your colorful explanation. :)
Anas: that's great to hear, thank you!
The already translated strings likely comes from TikiWiki CMS which is what SUMO is based on.

ar is now enabled on support.mozilla.com, and Linostar is now a locale leader. We're communicating (off-bug) to help him get started.
