Google's text input box on their main search web page, as well as many other (a wTorrent login page for example) are rendering considerably wider than they should. The Google input box stretches the whole way across the page ( http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/145528/ff-google-text-input.png ), though the wTorrent only stretches too approximately 150%.
Reproducible: Always
This may be a minor bug but I have seen it getting in the way of other components (such as Browse buttons) being visible and thus there is a potential for a loss of function.

I see the same thing on my machine; this seemed to start occurring after one of the latest (3.5.2, 3.5.3) updates; I still have the 3.0 branch installed on my machine, and it doesn't happen there, so this seems to be a 3.5 only bug at this point. I don't come up with much when I google for this, so I'm also guessing that this is a Linux-only bug.
Anyway, to see what I mean, see http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2yvwawk&s=4 (sorry for the **** tinypic site, if i could attach stuff to this bug I would).

Whoops, I forgot to mention that I've tried safe-mode and with a new profile, and neither helps. Only running the 3.0 branch made a difference.

Just updated to 3.5.5, it still occurs (not only for x86_64 as you report, but also for x86_32 Linux - //Fedora Core 10 here). One improvement: the input box on main google site now looks ok:))

I fixed this on my machine; it was due to a non-default gtk font. I downloaded a separate set of fonts (Lucida Mac fonts) and had forgotten that I was using them. After removing those fonts, the problem went away.
