Currently it ships with 5.8.9 (2001) and the latest is 7.2 (2008).

WONTFIXING. Per Rob on IRC, he'd rather just use the one in his $PATH. MozillaBuild 1.4 will ship without vim, and you can set MOZ_NO_RESET_PATH=1 in your environment to keep your existing path.

After further discussion on the newsgroups, consensus seems to be that people would like to have emacs and vi both available in MozillaBuild.

I've been using the vim that comes from the 'MSYS Supplementary Tools' section here:

I'm going to use vim 7.2 from here:
