If I lose my internet connection, Firefox goes into offline mode and once the connection is restored, it doesn't go online again. So if I try to close the application and try to restart it, I get the message "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system".
I've tried closing the process from the task manager and also tried using the kill firefox batch file, but it does not work. I can only use firefox again if i restart my system.

This has been happening only for the past 2-3 days.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Lose internet connection and reconnect, doesn't connect
2. Close application and try to restart
3.
Actual Results:
Got the same problem

Expected Results:
Gone online automatically after internet connection is restored.
You can switch the Online mode if you click on File/Work Offline.
The checkmark should go away in that case.

That you can not close the task with the taskmanager is however something else in your system because this can only happen if Firefox hangs in some kernelspace code, for example a firewall driver.
Which Firewall Do you use ?
anand.balasubramanian, do you see this problem with v3.6 beta?
