User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042316 Firefox/3.0.10
Build Identifier:

A guest at MozillaZine complained that his Conduit Toolbar extension had not been reviewed. He usefully posted a list of other Conduit Toolbars on AMO (the first few, at least, still experimental). The link to this list is above.

I was under the impression that all Conduit Toolbars were ban from AMO due to their skunky privacy policies. If this isn't the case, at least one of the toolbars ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/11444 )does not have a privacy policy which all these things should have.

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
If the listed toolbars can be posted the links should be reviewed to assure they all have a privacy policy.

Expected Results:
Conduit Toolbars are not welcomed they should be removed.

Thanks. What is the policy on Conduit Toolbars? This pops up enough at MozillaZine that we might be able is discourage some of the authors from even posting them it AMO if they are not welcome.

Conduit toolbars are not accepted on AMO at the moment. The reason is that we were previously flooded with Conduit toolbars, to the tune of several 100, that at the time were very insecure and added no value to the add-ons community.

We're actively chatting with Conduit about providing a managed method of re-introducing their toolbars onto AMO, especially since they've received Truste certification. Once we've finalized the details of this, we will announce the process to the community.
Can I ask where this announcement will be made?

On the AMO blog: http://blog.mozilla.com/addons
A user on Mozillazine pointed out there is another conduit toolbar here:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/11473
I'm going to look into this.
Yep that was a Conduit toolbar and it's been rejected.

I've disabled the Conduit toolbar since it's currently not allowed on AMO.
