Build Identifier: Thunderbird 2.0.0.21 (20090302)

Often I find 2 processes of Thunderbird. After quitting Thunderbird 1 process still remain.

Reproducible: Sometimes
Paolo can you search a bit in bugzilla I'm pretty sure we already have that bug (could not find it though)

IMAP? maybe dupe is bug #459265?
> After quitting Thunderbird 1 process still remain.

Does the remaining Tb process never disappear? (loop/wait/dead lock etc.)
Or terminates if you wait for several minutes? (long termination time)

If "never disappear", loop(CPU 100%, or 50% if dual core)?
Or wait/dead_lock (CPU 0%)? Or repeated "CPU several % <-> CPU 0%"?

IMAP? If IMAP, IMAP with SSL? IMAP with StartTLS? Or IMAP without SSL/StartTLS?

If IMAP and "never disappear", how many connection is held?
> NETSTAT /n  /b /o
I'm using Imap for 7 accounts and Pop3 for 2 accounts. No SSL or TLS.
* - Netstat: 14 active connections.
* - No CPU load.
For other questions (process disappear, etc), I'll look next time this happen and then I'll report it.
please provide full netstat details.
what connections to ldap and mail server?

I have provided the requested details months ago. I have no more the netstat logfile. Now I'm using Thunderbird 3 beta 4.
For the 2nd question I don't use ldap and my mail server connectgions were both pop3 (#2) and imap4 (#7).

Paolo how you have provided log? via private email? I don't see anything here.

Anyway, you use a lightning 0.9 with google calendar?

Could try if lastest 0.9.7 Inverse update for lightning for TB 2.x resolve your issue?

;-)
[Bug 459265] Thunderbird.exe in Task Manager Processes after closing application (with Lightning 0.9 and TB v2) - hangs during

I have this problem and it is easily replicated, I believe.

I use multiple profiles so open and close them repeatedly throughout the day. Each time, a process is left running in Task Manager.

All my accounts are pop3 and I have no add-ons.

Running Win7 Home Premium, but saw the problem originally running Vista.

I have the latest released version 3.03
Edward, do you see this problem if you disable all accounts from checking for new mail on startup?

(Palo seems to be gone)

Summary: Task manager report 2 processes of Thunderbird → Task manager report 2 processes of Thunderbird (Lightning 0.9 is used)
Paolo is not gone but is using MAC, now... ;-) I still use Thunderbird, V 3.0.4. BUT, I remember, under Windows Thunderbird was running with Lightning 0.9...
