Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042316 Firefox/3.0.10 Build Identifier: Mozilla Sunbird Version 0.9 Transferring an event to an other calendar via drag and drop doesn't move but copies the event. This behaviour is different from drag and drop within the same calendar to a different date and time and is therefore not expected. Moving is also expected because the event is no longer displayed during dragging. It reappears after dropping. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create calendars A and B and an event in calendar A. 2. Mark calendar B. 3. Drag and drop the event to calendar B via drag and drop. Actual Results: The event is copied to calendar B. Expected Results: The event should be moved to calendar B. It would be nice to have the possibility to chose between copying and moving by holding an additional key. Windows users are accustomed to that by holding the Ctrl-Key or not as it is the case for file transfer in the Windows explorer.

Currently Sunbird doesn't offer a change calendar feature via drag'n'drop. With drag'n'drop you can only change the event data and time. Changing calendar is only possible via editing or cut'n'paste.

Copying an event to an other local calendar via drag and drop obviously is possible if on the left side the "Calendars" window is in the foreground and on the right side the "Month View" window is displayed. Copying then occurs to the marked calendar regardless the exact mouse position in the target window.

I cannot reproduce using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1pre) Gecko/20090611 Calendar/1.0pre (BuildID: 20090611031611). Dropping an event to the Calendars tab does nothing - as expected. Maybe you could retest with a current nightly test build too?

The actual version 1.9.1pre (BuildID: 20090612032804) actually behaves different: Copying seems not to be possible. In a certain sense it is regrettable because drag and drop would be a nice feature ;-). The only remaining bug is that the shape of the mouse cursor leads to the expectation that drag and drop is possible. The mouse cursor should change if it leaves the window within which drag and drop is possible.

I don't have a drop indicator in the current 1.0pre. The following bug can be used to implement dropping to a calendar in the list:

(In reply to comment #5) > I don't have a drop indicator in the current 1.0pre. I see an arrow with a small rectangle below, which I think is a drop indicator. (Windows XP with nightly built from 2009-11-25)
