Steps to reproduce the bug:
1/ go to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/
2/ do CTRL+U
3/ search for "this site is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike License" (footer string)

HTML code:
this site is licensed under the <br /><a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/">Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike License v3.0</a> 

Now instead of doing CTRL+U on the page, select this same text with the mouse and click on "show selection source" in the context menu.

Expected result:
No difference

Actual result:
<br/> has become <br>

I think this falls under bug 164906.  Since the page is served as text/HTML you get html output from view selection source.
