Issue: I am using D-Link IP surveillance camera DCS-5300G. With Firefox i can't see video on browser. IE installs automatically some addon to show video but with Firefox i don't get such option, process is same like you install flash player or similar. This a known issue with Firefox from surveillance camera forums. I hope to find solution for this.
best regards, Marko

What plugin was installed in Internet Explorer (IE doesn't have add-ons) ? I don't see it mentioned on their product page <http://www.dlink.com/products/resource.asp?pid=342&rid=1230&sec=0>, just that it uses H.263+ (MPEG4 Short Header Mode). Maybe it's just Flash ?
I know that you can't just post a URL to your camera's webpage, but can you post an extract of that webpage, where the video is supposed to be ? It should be using an <embed> or <object> tab in the HTML source code.
Anyway, this doesn't seem to be a bug in Firefox. Mozilla doesn't write those plugins (or add-ons).

I just checked the manual page for your camera at <http://www.dlink.com/products/support.asp?pid=342&pv=91&sec=0>, but I think that this camera only works with Internet Explorer. If you go to page 34 of your manual ("Using the DCS-5300G with an Internet browser"), then you can see that it uses an Active X control (as seen in the 'Security Warning' dialog box. Only Internet Explorer can work with those, not abny other browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Firefox, ...).
So the title of the chapter is wrong - the camera can work with any browser, as long as it's Internet Explorer. That's also why the camera only works with Windows, not with Mac OS X or Linux.
If you can actually see a webpage with Firefox (just not the video), disregard this comment.
